The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) had no impact on the long-standing opportunity for taxpayers to make a direct contribution from an IRA to a qualified charitable organization. It did, however, make charitable gifts originating from an IRA more tax effective than typical charitable gifts.
